Purpose-built for industrial IoT, the Calliope platform has led the market in LTE Cat 1 chipsets since its debut in 2015.

Calliope 2, launched in 2021, is a single-chip LTE Cat 1bis solution that delivers major enhancements in integration and power efficiency—both in active and low-power modes. Supporting data rates of up to 10 Mbps downlink and 5 Mbps uplink, it stands as the only Cat 1bis chipset developed in Europe and the first to be certified by North America’s seven largest operators: AT&T, Bell, FirstNet, T-Mobile, Telus, Rogers, and Verizon.

Looking ahead, Calliope 3 will introduce groundbreaking innovation by combining 5G NR eRedCap and 4G LTE Cat 1bis support in a single, highly integrated chip—pushing the boundaries of low-power, wide-area IoT connectivity. Calliope 3 modules will be footprint compatible with existing Calliope 2 Cat 1bis, enabling seamless migration to 5G eRedCap.

Calliope 2 SQN3530

The SQN3530 is the second-generation Calliope chipset, engineered as a fully integrated single-chip solution (baseband, RF transceiver, and application processor) all running Sequans’ carrier-proven LTE protocol stack. Designed for efficiency, it supports low-power modes while delivering data rates of up to 10 Mbps downlink — making it ideal for high-performance, low-power applications.

Calliope 3 SQN4530

Currently in development, Calliope 3 builds on Sequans’ deep expertise to deliver the most advanced cellular IoT chip. This next-generation will support 5G NR eRedCap and 4G LTE Cat 1bis into a single, ultra-optimized chip—setting a new benchmark for low-cost, low-power and robust connectivity.
