The Sequans Monarch 2 SiP (also known as SKY66431) has been certified as an approved module by Verizon through its Open Development certification process.
The Monarch 2 SiP (SKY66431) is a highly integrated multi-band, multi-chip SiP (system-in-package) supporting 5G massive IoT, offering high performance connectivity with ultra-low power consumption. Its native 23 dBm front-end leverages Skyworks’ RF design and advanced packaging expertise that optimizes reliability in demanding environments and allows for extremely small footprint designs while maintaining simplified PCB design rules. With its SiP form factor enabling miniaturization and fully encapsulated silver-free conformal shielding, the Monarch 2 SiP/SKY66431 package is a key differentiator enabling ultra-compact, flexible and robust end-product designs for devices such as smart meters, wearables and trackers.
Monarch 2 SiP, SKY66431, integrates the entire RF front end, transceiver, power management, RAM memory, crystals, and baseband modem for an LTE multi-band radio operating in the 699 to 2200 MHz frequency range. Monarch 2 SiP’s very high level of integration results in an 8.8 x 11.3 x 1.585 mm (max) BGA package for an industry-leading compact size. Monarch 2 SiP also embeds a low power GNSS functionality.
The Monarch 2 SiP (SKY 66431) was introduced to the market by Sequans and Skyworks on November 17, 2022.
“The new SKY66431 SiP is a compelling IoT connectivity solution. It is a comprehensive, all-in-one platform combining the technologies of two industry leaders who have designed in all critical components in one powerful, tiny SiP that is ideal for a wide range of IoT applications, from wearables, including medical devices and trackers, to sophisticated smart utility meters, requiring advanced packaging and capabilities.”
