Sequans Monarch 2 GM02S Module Now Certified for Use on the NB-IoT Network of Southern Linc Wireless

Sequans Monarch 2 GM02S cellular IoT module has been certified by Southern Linc Wireless and approved for use on Southern Linc’s NB-IoT network.

Southern Linc is backed by the Southern Company, the parent company of three of the largest electric utilities in the southeast USA: Alabama Power, Georgia Power, and Mississippi Power, who are also Southern Linc customers. Monarch 2 GM02S is an industry-leading LTE-M/NB-IoT module that is an ideal solution for the design of smart meters and AMI equipment.

Monarch 2 GM02S is based on Sequans’ second-generation Monarch 2 chip platform, which is designed and optimized to support 4G/5G massive IoT applications. Monarch 2 provides industry-leading performance and power consumption and is based on Sequans’ proven LTE-M/NB-IoT protocol stack—one of the most mature in the entire LTE ecosystem.

Monarch 2 GM02S provides powerful support for integrated eSIM, enabled by its secure enclave that has been certified at the EAL5+ security level, the highest in the industry. Monarch 2 GM02S also includes Sequans’ Single-SKU™ RF front end, for true global deployment capability.

In addition to smart meters and smart city applications, Monarch 2 GM02S also supports the design of sensors, trackers, and wearables for smart home, ehealth, industrial, agricultural, financial, and security applications.

Monarch 2 GM02S module and its accompanying full-featured evaluation kit, Monarch 2 GM02S NEKTAR EVK, can be purchased today from Mouser, DigiKey, Avnet  and Richardson RFPD.
